September and back to school, that means that 1/3 of the
Moose year is history. Our membership goal is 70 we have been
doing pretty good for the first third, averaging over 8 a month.
But a caution, don't let up, a month without any new applications
can put a damper on any good average. Our summer picnic was a
"BLAST" we had well over 350 in attendance and from all the
comments that I have received, everyone had a good time. A big
thanks goes out to Mark, Cindy, Don and the committee for a
good job well done. With September comes the Steelers games.
Once again the Moose Social Quarters are the place. Plans have
been made and action taken to assure that all of our members and
guests will have plenty of good food and refreshments at these
affairs. The Black-out boards and the 22 Club are in process.

BASEBALL TRIP
PIRATE BASEBALL GAME WAS A BLAST #2!!
88 Members, guests and friends boarded two busses at
2:00 on Saturday, August 7th and headed to PNC Park.
Plenty of refreshments on the bus made the trip too short.
Shortly upon arriving the food tables were laden and the
coolers were being emptied. Mark, Cindy, Don and Ruthie
with a hand by Sally and Michelle had an endless stream of
delicious and tempting morsels to satisfy any appetite.
Since we had plenty of time before the game started groups
began taking off in different directions. Some to visit the
Stadium, some to visit the souvenir shops and some of the
less devious hiked over to the Rivers Casino for some
"Action" while some just remained seated and enjoyed the
cool drinks. At 7:00 a very exciting game started. I say
exciting, because for once the Pirates played and gave a
very enjoyable performance. We came away with a WIN.
The Concert by George Thorogood and the Fireworks
were spectacular. Returning to the Moose at approximately
2:30 AM. All this for $30.00 each. Anyone
participating in both the picnic and the ballgame sure got
the financial value of their Moose dues back ten-fold. A
good time was had by all.
